The magnetic pump manufacturer tells you the eight laws for the trouble-free operation of the magnetic pump
If you want the magnetic pump to be safe, stable, and trouble free, be sure to follow the eight rules below.
1. No idling
Since the magnetic pump operates without liquid, the sliding bearing of the pump chamber quickly loses lubrication and wear at high speeds. The magnetic eddy current cutting magnetic field of the inner magnetic rotor generates enough heat to demagnetize the magnet. Although some magnetic pump factories claim that their magnetic pumps can withstand idling, there is a prerequisite that they can withstand idle time and can only be vacant for 3 to 5 minutes.
2. Prohibit long-term closure of valve operation
When the flow rate is close to zero, the power required by the impeller is not zero, and the power obtained on the impeller will be converted into heat, which will vaporize. As the bearing heats and wears, the friction between the rotor and the spacer creates high temperature demagnetization.
3. Avoid cavitation
Random variations in the piping, changes in the level of the transport medium, and non-constant temperature of the medium will change the effective cavitation margin of the pump, which is prone to cavitation. In a short period of time, cavitation can lead to the scrapping of the magnetic pump.
4. Prohibit long-term operation under extreme traffic conditions
The magnetic pump operates at the flow rate specified by the principle, which will result in excessive bearing load.
5. Do not exceed the rated temperature difference
When using a magnetic pump, the temperature change should be monitored regularly and should not exceed the rated temperature.
6. Avoid heat shock
Generally, the heating or cooling rate of the pump should not exceed 10 degrees Celsius per minute.
7. Start the magnetic pump after filling
Before starting and using the magnetic pump, the pump chamber must be filled with enough liquid to vent the air.
8. Never reverse
The steering of the magnetic pump should be consistent with the nameplate of the pump body, which is easy to burn the motor.
If you strictly follow these eight recommendations, you can avoid causing abnormal damage to more than 95% of the magnetic pump.
